Lets learn more about the GLOBALG.A.P.

Lets learn more about the GLOBALG.A.P.

GLOBALG.A.P. (Global Good Agricultural Practices) is a certification program for agricultural products that aims to ensure that food and agricultural products are produced using environmentally sustainable and socially responsible methods. The program provides a standardized, globally recognized framework of Good Agricultural Practices that are designed to promote the health and well-being of consumers, workers, and the environment.

Lets learn more about the GLOBALG.A.P.
Share:

GLOBALG.A.P. provides certification for a wide range of agricultural products, including:

  • fruits,
  • vegetables,
  • herbs
  • spices
  • etc.

The GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP) is a voluntary Add-on and ready-to-use module developed to assess social practices on the farm, addressing specific aspects of workers’ health, safety and welfare.

The GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Standard  (CoC) ensures that any product bearing a GGN label logo or sold with a GLOBALG.A.P. claim is truly sourced from a GLOBALG.A.P. certified production process.

The certification program covers a wide range of production systems, including conventional, integrated, and organic agriculture. GLOBALG.A.P. also provides certification for specific segments of the food supply chain, such as greenhouse production and packhouses. The certification is recognized worldwide and is widely accepted by retailers, food processors, and consumers as a guarantee of high-quality, safe, and sustainably produced food.

There are several reasons why farmers and food producers choose to certify their products according to GLOBALG.A.P.:

  • Consumer demand: There is growing consumer demand for products that are produced in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible manner. GLOBALG.A.P. certification provides assurance to consumers that the products they purchase have been produced to high standards.
  • Market access:A.P. certification can provide farmers and food producers with access to new markets, both domestically and internationally, as it is recognized globally.
  • Improved Agricultural practices: The GLOBALG.A.P. certification process encourages farmers and food producers to adopt better agricultural practices and to continuously improve their operations.
  • Better productivity: Adopting the practices outlined in the GLOBALG.A.P. standard can result in better productivity, as well as reduced input costs, lower environmental impact, and improved working conditions.
  • Improved food safety:A.P. certification focuses on food safety, and farmers and food producers must demonstrate that they have implemented measures to minimize the risk of food contamination.
  • Reputation and credibility:A.P. certification can enhance the reputation and credibility of a business, helping it to stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Overall, GLOBALG.A.P. certification provides benefits for both farmers and consumers, promoting environmentally sustainable and socially responsible agricultural practices and ensuring the production of high-quality, safe, and sustainable food products.
