BM Certification highly acknowledges the success of RIX Riga Airport in the annual management systems audit and in maintaining five ISO certification systems
BM Certification is proud to announce that VAS “Starptautiskā lidosta “Rīga”” (SJSC Riga International Airport) has obtained ISO 45001 certification. This certificate is a testament to the airport’s unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of its workforce. This represents a significant step in Riga Airport’s ongoing efforts to improve operations, as they incorporate this important certification alongside their existing ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and ISO 27001 certifications.
BM Certification proudly assesses the performance of Riga Airport within the framework of a certification audit and confirms its compliance with international standards.
For several years, Riga Airport has maintained four significant ISO certifications -SO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 50001 (Energy Management), and ISO 27001 (Information Security Management).
At the end of the 3-year ISO certification cycle, the organisation carries out a recertification audit to verify the continuous improvement (taking into account both internal and external changes) and effectiveness of the management systems, to achieve defined objectives and expected results. At the time of the recertification audit, the performance of the management systems during the last certification cycle is reviewed.
This year, the airport expanded its certification portfolio by obtaining ISO 45001, the internationally recognized standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Each certification scheme reflects the airport’s commitment to continuous improvement and a drive to offer the best possible service to its passengers, partners, and employees.
- ISO 9001: Quality Management System
ISO 9001 is aimed at ensuring that an organisation delivers consistent, high-quality services that meet customer needs while improving operational efficiency. The standard focuses on customer satisfaction, process optimisation and continuous improvement, making it an essential part of an organisation’s management system. - ISO 14001: Environmental Management System
ISO 14001 focuses on helping organizations reduce their environmental impact by providing a framework for managing and improving environmental performance. This standard ensures that organizations implement sustainable practices, optimize resource usage, and minimize waste. - ISO 50001: Energy Management System
ISO 50001 enables organizations to monitor and improve their energy performance, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lower their overall energy consumption. This certification underscores a commitment to sustainability by ensuring that energy resources are managed efficiently and responsibly. - ISO 27001: Information Security Management System
With the growing importance of data protection and cyber security, ISO 27001 certification assures that an organisation adheres to the highest standards of information security and risk management. This certification aims to ensure the protection of both personal and operational data by promoting the secure handling and storage of sensitive information. - ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety Management System
ISO 45001 demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of its employees. This certification provides a structured approach to reducing workplace risks, ensuring safe working conditions and preventing accidents or incidents.
At BM Certification, we are deeply honored to support Riga Airport in achieving these important certifications. Our team of experienced auditors worked closely with the airport to ensure that the entire certification process was thorough, precise, and fully aligned with international management systems and accreditation standards.
